Go to your local store and purchase a bare root plant, you can also purchase on online from sextonnurseries.com. Take it out of the package and knock off all the saw dust, it's a filler to keep the roots moiste as long as possible. Soak the plant in water for a few hours. Take the onion (which is the ball where all the stems or branchs derive from) and split it with a knife. Take a few cuttings from other roses and insert them into the onion. Now use some tape and tape it up. Yes, the all American Duct tape will work. You may look like you have a redneck garden for a while, but the results are so cool. Plant the rose in a starter pot (2 gallon). Keep the new growth on the existing branches trimmed back for a few weeks. Watch and make sure that the new grafts are growing. This will produce a rose bush that has all different kinds of roses on it.
