My land has a natural slope that I'd like to put to use creating a stream type of water garden. I need some advice on getting started.

About Me:
i live in an converted schoolhouse built in 1835 on 3 1/2 acres of land - very rocky land. It was called the Slate Hill schoolhouse which gives you an idea of what the soil is like. I keep 1 acre as a natural meadow and would like to return it to a more varied, but native species of wildflowers.

Hi Cindy
The process is really not too hard.the first step is lay out your basic pathof your stream bed and landscape the slope the close to the wayyou want it. You will be able to experiment with exact path later. The next step is to lay down your underlayment.I used outdoor carpeting, that seems to work pretty
well. Don"t use indoor carpet that will get moldy and create a mess. After the underlayment lay down you rubber liner. Then start placing rocks. This is the fun part because you can put some in place and run some water to see how it looks then change as desired. The key is to have plenty of different size rocks on hand before you start. After the rocks are in place then landscape with the desired plants.
Hope this helps Good luck
Ted
